A combination of Daryl’s House and Austin City Limits with a literary nod, Antlers & Acorns, Songs and Stories has been cooking in the creative minds of our Musical Director, Charlie Richards, and Festival Director, Shari Smith since before a pandemic brought everything to a stop. Now, it’s ready for Prime Time.

The television audience gets to see behind the scenes, the writing, the rehearsal, the conversation, the cooking, the beginnings of the show all taking place at Shari’s house, Antlers & Acorns Lodge. They’ll see the special musical guests, the band, the cast out on the mountain that overlooks Boone. The live audience in the Appalachian Theatre sees a scripted performance where story goes into song, song into story. Both come together in the final production.
