Do You Have to Buy VIP Tickets to Come to the Shows in the Theatre?
No! Tickets to individual shows will be sold by the Appalachian Theatre. We will announce and post those ticket opportunities, But VIPs get better seating, and are guaranteed those great seats to every theatre show.
Do You Have to Buy a Ticket to go to the Songwriters in the Wild?
No. Those shows are free. Be sure to buy a meal and a drink while you’re there, and support the restaurants that are hosting.
Can You Walk to Each Venue?
Yes! With the exception of our Welcome Party at Booneshine on Wednesday night, September 10th, you can walk to each venue including The Appalachian Theatre from any parking spot in downtown Boone.
Where Do I Park in Downtown Boone?
There are meters all over town that require more money every two hours. You don’t have to move your car if you use a different card or cash each time. There is a great paid lot on Queen Street that allows all day parking, one between the town offices and The Social on King Street that allows the same, and a new parking garage accessible from Water Street.
Does the Bus System go to all the Hotels?
Yes! Our WONDERFUL bus system, The AppalCart goes to each one of our Host Hotels and it’s free to ride! The drivers are so friendly and will help you get the right color route if you are confused. You can take the bus downtown each day, spend the day going to Songwriters in the Wild, take it back to your hotel to rest and change for the evening theatre shows, and drive back into town if you wish to have your car to stay after the show for our Official Late Night Hang at The Local on Howard Street.
Are There Ubers in Boone?
Mostly Yes, but it’s not the most dependable system.
Where is the Closest Airport?
We recommend Charlotte Douglas for the easiest route to Boone, but you can get here from the Asheville airport or the Tri Cities Airport if you don’t mind a beautiful drive with switchback curves.
Will there be time to go to Grandfather Mountain or other landmarks?
Yes, on Thursday, September 11th you have all morning and early afternoon to go to our beloved Grandfather Mountain, fly fish, or do some incredible shopping downtown. The first show begins at two o’clock.
